Chicago  is one of Broadway’s most successful musicals, having experienced countless iterations and new productions since its premiere at the 46th Street Theater in 1975. It is based on the eponymous drama by journalist Maurine Dallas Wattkins, inspired by the stories of the criminals she reported on in her column. The music and lyrics were written by John Kander and Fred Ebb, and directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, a famous Broadway choreographer known for musicals such as  Sweet Charity, Cabaret, This Devil jazz. Today’s performances are based on the revival of the musical in 1996 with choreography by Ann Reinking following Foss ’example. The story is a brilliant spectacle about jazz Chicago, full of intrigue, love, deception, betrayal, rivalry and friendship. The main characters are the naive Roxie Hart, who wants nothing more than to become famous as a dancer, and the already established cabaret star Velma Kelly, who find themselves in court for the murder of their lovers. With the help of clever lawyer Billy Flynn, they try to escape the death penalty, and from arrest to the end of the trial, they serve up a number of fun singing and dancing spots such as  All that Jazz, Hot Honey Rag, Razzle Dazzle .
